On Saturday, Oct. 18, FMMC and the Smithsonian Associates will co-sponsor an all-day seminar on "Mozart In Vienna" with lectures by Dr. Robert Wyatt, a long-time FMMC member, who is executive director of the Cape Cod Conservatory and a Steinway artist.Ý The event will take place in the Onmi Shoreham Hotel at 2500 Calvert St., NW, Washington, D.C. from 9:30-4:30.
Using music, slides, film clips and live piano and chamber music provided by FMMC members, Dr. Wyatt will speak about Mozart's live and relationship with the city he loved most. The FMMC performers will be:Ý Elizabeth Lane and Barbara Wing playing the Mozart Piano sonata in D major for piano four hands; the Chesapeake String Quartet: Ramona Matthews and Michael Casassa, violins; Nicholas Fobe, viola; and Allan Malmberg, cello, with Jerome Schwaarz, clarinet playing the Mozart Clarinet Quintet; and Sarah Hoover, soprano, accompained by Rob Wyatt, singing several arias from Mozart's operas.

- The Washington Symphonic Brass announces concerts in October called "HEROIC BRASS." The program (Please see their website at www.wsbrass.com) will be performed three times:
- Sunday, October 19 at 7:30 p.m. at National Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC (4101 Nebraska Avenue, NW -- between American University and Tenley Circle)
- Friday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Annapolis, MD (Church Circle; near the State House in Annapolis)
- Sunday, October 26 at 4:30 p.m. at Saint Luke Catholic Church in McLean, VA (7001 Georgetown Pike; 1/4 mile inside the Beltway on Rt. 193)
