MEMBER NEWS PUBLISHED ON THIS WEB SITE IN APRIL 2003:
- Victoria Bragin will present a solo concert on Sunday, April 6, at 3:00 pm at the Cove Presbyterian Church in Weirton, WV. On the program are works by Haydn's F Major Sonata, Schumann's Carnaval, and Chopin's Sonata in B Minor. She will also perform at a "Mostly American" concert on Sunday, April 13, at 2:30 at the Huntington Museum of Art as part of the Music at the Museum series and in conjunction with the exhibition "Through American Eyes." On the program are Samuel Barber's Sonata for Violoncello and Piano, selected songs by Hubbard Miller, and Claude Bolling's Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio. She will be performing with Sölen Dikener, cello; Linda Dobbs, soprano; Wendell Dobbs, flute; Mark Zanter, bass; and Steve Hall, drums.
- Announcement from Vera Kochanowsky:
The Polychoral Legacy of Venice, a program of the multi-choral works of Giovanni Gabrieli and his contemporaries, will be presented by the chamber choir, Carmina (directed by Vera Kochanowsky), The Washington Cornett and Sackbutt Ensemble and members of the Orchestra of the Seventeenth Century (directed by Michael Holmes) on Sunday, April 27 at 3 pm. The concert will take place at St. Patrick's Church, 619 Tenth Street, NW. Metro: Metro Center. Free admission, but a free-will donation is requested. - Friday, April 25, 2003, 8:15 pm, Old Cabell Hall, Charlottesville, Virginia. Mozart's solo motet Exsultate Jubilate, and his Vespers and Coronation Mass with the University Singers, Michael Slon conducting.

Here are the details of my upcoming solo recital at the Phillips Collection on Sunday, May 18th, 2003. Hope you can come! The concert begins at 5 p.m. (It is a good idea to come early for the best seating opportunities. The art gallery is under some construction, but still offers some of the best impressionistic and modern paintings in town.) If you want to be outside, it's always fun to stroll along Embassy row or explore the shops on Connecticut Avenue.
Admission to the Phillips: A small donation is requested at the door.
Location: 21st and Massachusetts Ave, N.W. just east of Dupont Circle. It is also one short block east of Florida Ave, where the Cosmos Club is located. Parking is limited and can be difficult in this area of town.
