CHORALE AUDITIONS
FMMC CHORALE ANNOUNCES SOLOIST AUDITIONS FOR 2007-2008 SEASON
The FMMC Chorale, under the direction of Webster Alexander Rogers Jr., invites Club members to apply to be soloists for its upcoming season, which will feature performances of Mendelssohn's "Elijah," Vaughan Williams' "Hodie" and the Bach "Mass in B Minor." Auditions will be held on Sat., Sept. 15, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. (17th & O Streets, NW).
All voice parts are welcome to audition for solos, but tenors and basses are particularly sought. Auditions will be scheduled in 15-minute increments to accommodate as many singers as possible.
Singers should prepare two short sacred solos (excerpts from longer arias are acceptable), either from the repertoire we'll be doing or comparable works. An accompanist will be provided, but singers should bring two copies of the pieces they will sing, one for the pianist and for the Chorale's conductor, Webster Rogers.
Please note that in adherence to FMMC policy, the Chorale does not pay soloists.
For more details or to schedule an audition, interested parties should contact Steve Honley, the Chorale's assistant conductor and rehearsal accompanist, directly at SAHonley@his.com or (202) 479-9114
